Laura E. Craft is an associate at Mathis, Marifian & Richter (MM&R), who focuses her practice in civil litigation, commercial litigation, employment law, medical malpractice and personal injury.

Laura values the trust that her clients place in her and works hard to provide them with personal attention and sound legal advice. She has successfully represented individuals and businesses in a variety of federal and state court matters, including breach of contract, class action, discrimination, medical malpractice and fraud cases.

Prior to joining MM&R, Laura worked as a litigation associate in a boutique law firm and as a legal assistant to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee. She also interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.

Laura is licensed in Illinois and Missouri and is admitted to practice before the Illinois and Missouri state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Missouri.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, St. Clair County Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL).

Community Involvement

Laura is active in her community. She currently serves as a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Friends Committee and cochairs the BAMSL’s Read Across America program, which promotes literacy and the legal profession in local schools.

Education

Laura received her BA summa cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2001 and her JD from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004.

While in law school, Laura earned four CALI academic excellence awards for obtaining the highest grade in her appellate brief writing, contracts, criminal procedure and remedies courses. She was also a member of the trial team and an executive editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review.
