John W. McCracken
John W. McCracken is a shareholder at Mathis, Marifian & Richter (MM&R), who focuses his practice in civil litigation, commercial litigation, business law and real estate law.
John has an extensive background litigating shareholder disputes, real estate disputes, probate disputes, breach of contracts and other litigation matters as well as providing legal counsel related to business planning, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
A partner at Coffey & McCracken Law Firm, P.C. in Edwardsville since 2001, John and his team joined MM&R in 2011 following a merger that combined the talents of some of the most respected attorneys in southern Illinois. John is a successful litigator and a respected member of the Edwardsville community. He practices from MM&R’s Edwardsville office, serving individuals and businesses throughout southern Illinois.

Community Involvement
John has an extensive background in giving back to the community and has served in several leadership positions in local community organizations. He is currently the chair of the Edwardsville Fire and Police Commission, president of the Edwardsville YMCA Board, and board member of Children’s Home & Aid – Southern Illinois Region. He is a member of the Goshen Rotary and serves on the Scholarship Committee for Ed-Glen Chamber of Commerce.
Education
John earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Millikin University and a Master Degree in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he was the recipient of the Dr. Leo Cohen Honors Award in Urban Management. In 1997, he received his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law.
